Approximate real world travel times

These estimates assume riding every day for most of the day. As a rough guide of road hours, multiple Google Maps time by 1.6 (i.e. Google is wrong, attempting to achieve Google estimates is dangerous).

Ride times are dramatically increased in rainy weather, and during road works, or volcanic eruptions.

Ferry times are for arrival at harbour through to riding away on the other side. Ferry delays of 12 hours are not unusual, and ferries can be delayed for 24 hour (or cancelled completely).

For a happy ride, allow a few more days than minimum.

We will not agree to rides that are shorter than our recommended minimum as this leads to harsh operation f our bikes and danger to customers.
